The earliest chickens evolved about 10,000 years ago, as the Red Junglefowl.

The earliest eggs were from the Jurassic period, nearly 200 million years ago.

So the next time somebody asks rhetorically, "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" you can answer the rhetorical question with a literal answer and be the hit of the party.
