What we either know factually or can reasonably infer:

* Krasnov (aka Trump) was being recruited and groomed by the KGB as early as 1987.

* Epstein started his operation about that same time, give or take a few years.

* By around 2006, Trump was entirely dependent on Russian money laundering to save his own real estate empire from total collapse. This is about when Eric famously said something to the effect that they didn't need any US banks. They were getting all the money they needed from Russia.

* Epstein started his ascent in NYC. That's where Trump was, and they became almost inseparable. They are both serial sex offenders and they both were especially fond of having sex with underage girls -- i.e. pedophiles. All of the above is not really disputed.

So far, I have not seen evidence of the Russians sending large sums of money to Epstein, but that's undoubtedly the kind of stuff that is in the FBI files. We know for certain that Trump was receiving a lot of money from the Russians during the period when Epstein's operation was at its peak. And it is also reported that Epstein received money transfers approaching a billion dollars.

It seems pretty obvious that Trump and Epstein found each other because they both had ambitions of being big shots in NYC and both liked abusing women, especially young girls. So I don't think anybody had to "lure" Trump. He was attracted to Epstein like a fly to shit.

But the more pertinent question is whether FSB, Mossad or any other international forces took an active role in guiding Epstein, Maxwell, and Trump to scale up their extortion machine. Personally, I think this is EXTREMELY likely. Trump's natural instincts are to collect kompromat for his own purposes, a la Roy Cohn. But it would not be at all surprising to learn that the FSB showed him how kompromat on "the right people" could be much more valuable than Trump had ever conceived. Remember that by this time, the KGB/FSB had been grooming Trump for 20 years and had been funding his businesses for at least a few years. This was a pivotal time for Putin too. By this time, he had consolidated power in the post-Gorbachev era, and now had a firm grip over the Kremlin. Putin was looking to put the USSR back together. It was only a couple of years later that Trump started doing the birther thing, which is a classic KGB tactic to destabilize a population, and it has been a steady stream of this kind of KGB crap from Trump continuously since 2010.

That's a lot of words to say that nobody needed to lure Trump into joining a sex trafficking ring. He loved that stuff and often boasted that he bought the Teen USA pageant so he could ogle naked teenagers. But Trump's Russian handlers would have been VERY interested in having Trump and Epstein take their kompromat operation to the next level.
