1. braised beef short ribs with polenta, fried cabbage, and a tomato-cuke-onion salad

It's store-bought polenta, and I haven't decided whether to fry it or not. That seems like disrespecting the cast iron seasoning fairies, something I try to avoid. I still need to go buy some carrots and celery, though.

The spell checker wants to substitute "tadpole" for "polenta!"
