What's for Dinner, Tues., Aug. 18, 2025

Flounder, which will be sauteed in olive oil with lemon juice, dill, and garlic.

Miso Aubergine with Grain Salad

Has aubergine (using eggplant from friends, since I don't have any yet)
Miso paste, honey, sesame oil, soy, and garlic.

The salad consists of mixed grains and edamame beans. Chopped cilantro.

The dressing is soy, sesame oil, and honey, plus lime juice.

Over the top is chopped green onion and red chili.

Kombucha: cherry ginger

Dessert: Might pick something up while I'm out.

It's store-bought polenta, and I haven't decided whether to fry it or not. That seems like disrespecting the cast iron seasoning fairies, something I try to avoid. I still need to go buy some carrots and celery, though.

The spell checker wants to substitute "tadpole" for "polenta!"

Thawed out a couple black bean burgers I made last month and air fried them. Had them on multigrain Kaiser rolls with sliced red onion, thinly sliced tomato, guacamole and salsa. Also had steamed corn on the cob and coleslaw. Cheers!🥂
