3. We're all sick of them, but we have to remember that this is a sickness, too

They're not a threat to themselves or others, only to the animals they profess to love and rescue. They're blind to the suffering of sick animals and they're blind to the fact that animal waste needs to be cleaned up for the sake of the animals.

Most go home after the animals are confiscated and the property cleaned up (at the hoarder's expense) and there is usually a court order that there will never be another of the animal of choice on the premesis, with unannounced visits by Animal Control to make sure.

Hoarding is different from simple neglect, although the results can look the same.
