Local officials, volunteers, and local animal rescue Paws and Claws Pet Rescue worked together to rescue over 100 neglected dogs from a home in Albion.
The dogs were found living in squalor and ankle-deep feces. Most have never stepped outside and are terrified of humans.
Rescuers said all dogs are in need of medical care and several are pregnant. They are suffering from fleas, tapeworms, malnutrition, matted fur, rotting teeth, and many more ailments.
See photos of some of the poor pups here and donate if you can to help with their recovery. The goal is to treat, sterilize, and socialize each dog so they can find a loving home. These dogs have been through so much and deserve to experience love for the first time in their lives.

(6,603 posts)This is on the other side of the state from us but we have our share in Western Washington also.
I always wished to have enough money to help animals out. We humans don't deserve their love and undying affection. Sick bastards burn in hell.
I totally agree.

(113,963 posts)They're not a threat to themselves or others, only to the animals they profess to love and rescue. They're blind to the suffering of sick animals and they're blind to the fact that animal waste needs to be cleaned up for the sake of the animals.
Most go home after the animals are confiscated and the property cleaned up (at the hoarder's expense) and there is usually a court order that there will never be another of the animal of choice on the premesis, with unannounced visits by Animal Control to make sure.
Hoarding is different from simple neglect, although the results can look the same.
