It cannot. We are not ready for this technology because we are not advanced enough to control it once it is let out. And, thanks to corporate greed tweaking the laws so that we really can't stop them from letting it loose onto the world, we have no choice.

It's not like it has not happened before. We are some great ones for that. Medicines that we have no real idea what the long term effects are? Who cares, in a few cases it healed the person, so let's dump in on everyone! We have a tech that we don't really know what it will do in the future, but let's just integrate it into everything right this freaking second. Why? Because if we don't get rich from this, someone else will!

And, we can't have that, now can we?
