I'm routinely seeing prices over $6/gallon now, with some stations up over $7. Two days ago, it cost me $49 to put half a tank in my little standard-size sedan (15.6 gallon tank). I stopped because it was $5.65/gallon, which nowadays is cheap. Thank the gods I get to work from home because if I were still commuting as I did for so many years, this would be shattering my budget. I feel so horrible for everyone who has no such choice - and here's the CEO of whatever gas company telling people they should drive less!
