If the Republicans can get all of their people to vote, then they will pass legislation. You can't identify a single bill where we have been better off this year by cooperating. The ONLY time we have gotten any results is when we DEMAND changes and refuse to let them nickel and dime us.

The public agrees with us -- or they will if we use our energy making our case. That is a powerful force.

Regarding the budget, all Presidential budgets are DOA. They are just wish lists. We should be staking out a position that there won't be a single penny authorized for the Pentagon and bomb-makers until all exceptions to the War Powers Resolution are revoked and Trump complies 100% with that law. Even if we lose these votes today, we must show the American people why they need to elect Democrats in both chambers this November. You can't do that by trying to meet the Republicans halfway. That just means losing half of Medicare, half of Social Security, half the safety regulations, half the support for scientific resource, etc. Fuck that idea. We are way past that. We have to learn how to act like a real opposition party.
