In reply to the discussion: Republicans Already Backtracking on Their Promise as Mike Johnson Refuses to Guarantee a Vote on Obamacare [View all]lapucelle
(20,885 posts)30. The Senate deal includes two Democratic funding bills that have been stuck in committee in the Senate for months.
The Senate passed those bills last night.
Johnson has no choice but to pass those bills in the House this week.
And a humiliated Donald Trump will have no choice other than to sign those two Democratic appropriations bills into law, rather than the clean CR that he fought so hard for.
One of the bills secures VA funding until the end of the fiscal year (September 30, 2026)
The other bill not only secures the funding of SNAP until the end of the fiscal year, but actually increases the funding.
=========================
Most people seem unaware of exactly what is in the Senate package. It's so disappointing that Republican and anti-Democratic Party talking points dominate so many liberal spaces.

It won't be inflation, it will be the loss of health care for 20M that Dems should pound on.
