"Former Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger has defeated Republican Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears in the race for Virginia’s governorship, after a long campaign with no primaries. Spanberger will succeed Gov. Glenn Youngkin, a Republican who was barred from running again by state term limits."

I'm not sure of the date she resigned, but if it is recent, then this would now be an open seat, so a trade would leave them still one vote short.
