Until just a few minutes ago: I read that Chuck Schumer has sold out the public, and especially those who relied on tax subsidies for insurance through the ACA’s marketplace. He CAVED on reopening the government…and like Charlie Brown trick-or-treating, all he got was (the equivalent of) a rock: Cave on the stopgap spending bill, and in return? A promise to hold a separate vote later/next week on renewing subsidies.

Guess what? That bill will be subject to filibuster, and the Reichwing sadists aren’t going to let people have affordable healthcare. And that’s assuming that Thune (aka, Lucy) doesn’t yank the football as Charlie tries to kick the ball.

Saw a meme that applies very well in this context:
Republicans would deny 99 people the benefits of X, Y and/or Z, etc., so as to prevent that one case of fraud. Democrats would tolerate that one case of fraud if it means 99 people get X, Y, Z.
