The federal grand jury indictment process is very much susceptible to abuse if the DOJ doesn’t mind losing at trial. While I’m sure Bondi would love to win a few, I don’t think that’s the primary goal. I think it’s primarily to punish past anti-Trump behavior and to chill speech and actions against Trump’s policies in the present. Even if found innocent most of us do not want to be indicted and go through a trial. I applaud all who stand up against political extortion.
