7. I wonder how great the impact would be if the hybrid becomes

the majority of new cars. For some, a plug in hybrid could become in actual use an EV. This would lead to a decline in gasoline used.

As a non engineer, I wonder if research on better electric systems on hybrids would also improve the EV motors that could be offered in the future.

Obviously, the future should be with EVs. We clearly can't get federal subsidies under Trump, but the car companies, like all companies manufacturing anything people use for long periods of time, need to focus on both where they need to be now and in the future.
