In reply to the discussion: Hollywood comes to Kimmel's defense after ABC pulls late-night show [View all]Gimpyknee
(675 posts)Jimmy Kimmel will do fine. Hes been handsomely paid for his efforts over the years. Unfortunately, viewers have been turning away from such late night shows as his for years. Johnny Carson routinely drew 17 million viewers nightly for years. His final show drew 50 million. Jimmy KImmel drew an average of 129,000 nightly viewers in August. I am not defending ABC, Im absolutely pissed by their cowardice, but they could have easily fired Kimmel because of low ratings.
We cut ties to television on November 9th, 2016. There was no way we were going to watch and listen to that orange moron in the White House. Eight years later we remain pleased with our decision and are happy once again not to have to watch or listen to the orange morons return. This decision has not prevented us from watching Jimmy over the years on any number of streaming sources. I feel confident if Kimmel elects to continue his show he will find a way to distribute it to the public. What I would like to see now is Kimmel going on Stephen Coberts The Late Show and letting loose a historic tirade. Cobert, himself fucked by CBS, could join in and go out in a blaze of glory. Now that would be a fabulous late night television broadcast.
