The camera operators, writers, accountants, set and lighting folks, ushers, security guards, caterers, and others do need the show.

That Kimmel has been a Trump target long before any of this is also well-known. To be frank, Kimmel should have known better, but that's a bit of victim blaming and some of the trauma of a child of an occasionally abusive parent - I knew when he was in a rage and I knew to be quiet during those times. That's essentially what we're living through right now: the abusive family member is in an absolute rage and you're either quiet or you're their target.
