ALL cities have had "fed-state partnerships" with MOUs (Memorandums of Understanding) in place to do criminal and civil investigations, for years. And this was often because both entities were always chronically underfunded and understaffed. So this was a good way to "pool resources".

But this past year, because Muskrat came in and did a chainsaw massacre on the fed side of LEO-related programmatic work from the FBI, ATF, and DEA that the mayor references (instead, moving most of what they had left to do "immigration enforcement" ), then it puts cities in more of a bind because the loon administration has now knee-capped the very things that WERE originally put in place under Biden, that DID work to bring down the crime rates nationally.
