It's weird how some people still use the word "millennials" as a synonym for "those darned kids!"
As for the word "drop," i see the release date for albums being referred to that way all the time. Also books, movies, and even TV shows. I was listening to a podcast recently about a new documentary series that was about to be released and they were like, "The first 2 episodes drop on September 1st." So there you go!
