Although they may be offering some consideration under the table, there's only one reason they invited him to appear at their branded event, and that's to complement their watches.
I don't even think this order comes from the WH unless it was a precondition to appear. More likely, the stodgy ring of suits at in the boardroom want a seamless telecast that highlights their merch.

It's interesting that they know how divisive his appearance will be and are doing it anyway. Like putting Ghislaine Maxwell front and center at Fashion Week.
