4. I hate that the article focuses on the fact that he is up for reelection

He is a doctor. I wonder if his oath as a doctor especially combined with his oath of office REQUIRE him to use his knowledge, training and power to prevent the destruction of the medical system.

As to reelection, he may have a difficult choice. He is definitely not the most MAGA and actually voted to impeach Trump. I suspect his votes have always come from the middle. His vote for Kennedy, when he was the person best positioned to stop him should make him a disappointment to many who voted for him. I wonder if the promise he extracted from Kennedy was just to save face as he voted for him or if he actually believed him.

He may consider that he needs to double down on Kennedy rather that joining any effort to remove him or at least try to control him (which is probably impossible.)

He might have the choice of losing because he lost both the middle and MAGA or losing because MAGA is too powerful on its own.
