In reply to the discussion: Maxine Waters Says Trump's Actions Warrant 25th Amendment Review [View all]BumRushDaShow
(160,204 posts)And THAT is your "assumption".
I watched all this play out on CSPAN and listened to the debate. A process was followed as an official communication between the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate (Pence) regarding the disposition of the President of the United States after the Capitol chambers were occupied and trashed, and the President did nothing. That was an interesting historic circumstance that happened.
Right now this same President has wantonly violated the Constitution and multiple laws that I have posted about over and over and over - the "Budget Control and Impoundment Act", the "Antideficiency Act", multiple Civil Service Acts. etc.
For people to dismiss that and wave it away yet argue nonsense about actual alternate procedural mechanisms carried about by Congressional leadership that went beyond "impeachment", which did later happen in 2021 (but which won't happen right now while the GOP controls the House), boggles the mind.
