It's a good thing that more than one Democrat is planning to run against Collins, and I doubt it "upends" any major plans. Let the primary play out and then the Democrats can unite around a nominee.

Assuming in advance that this goes against some shadowy "national Democrats' plan" is scare mongering in an effort to make Democrats look bad.

Is that what Politico wants? For Democrats to look bad so Susan Collins wins again?
