(6,558 posts)anything can be weaponized... from the smallest grain of sand to the largest comet. But there's just something so disheartening when it's religion. Religion (or at least spirituality) has the capacity to bring people together for the good of all. But that requires giving up the greed of the little "self" and thinking in terms of the good of everyone. Too few people grok that anymore.
I have absolutely no doubt religion WILL be weaponized, unless we can get this maladministration out of office, and then start working on tearing down the "faith" departments that have made inroads in our government, especially since bush, jr. I was so disappointed that Obama supported them, even giving them more money. My reading of the Constitution says this is not legal... that it's government supporting one religion over all others, and worse than that even... supporting one BRANCH of one religion over everyone else. But hea, I'm not a constitutional scholar. I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express, as the ad goes. My understanding is of a common person reading the words. And we've sure seen with SCOTUS how they can banter back and forth what a simple word means... like "shall" vs "will." grrrr
