so maybe they have internalized a bunch of nonsense or maybe they haven't. I don't know. Until I see something to inform an opinion, I have none.

My own predictions about what I would do or be in their shoes aren't much use, I don't think.

I have experienced being around enough people who were indoctrinated as children into self-hatred and self-abuse that I do not assume out of hand that any particular people will reject such just because I think that a smart or self-respecting person ought to do so. They often do not.
