Amy Coney Barrett's adopted Haitian children are not dumb

I would have loved to have been there when she explained to them why Haitians can't stay in America.

Well kids, it's all part of God's plan...

2. She would have told them that they were different. Special. Chosen. Above the rest.

Not the same.

Never underestimate hypocrisy and the ability to rationalize.

5. Exactly. That God had ordained that they would be hers, etc.

Yada...yada...yada.

If someone doesn't think these Christian Nationalists can rationalize ANYTHING and EVERYTHING, then come on down to Texas and let me show them all of the defenses I'm seeing about Paxton getting caught on video leaving for Iceland with his mistress. They truly believe that they are better than everyone else, or they wouldn't be acting the way they act.

I am a Christian, but I am not one of those! The very idea that someone would put one above another is abhorrent.

Until they are adults with publicly visible behavior to judge, I have no opinion on the question of their intelligence and see no value in assuming anything about them.

They know they are adopted and they know that they looked differently than her other children as they grew up. They are bound to know their background and heritage as they are not babies. They are in their early twenties now.

Wouldn't you question why others just like you were being treated differently if you were in their shoes?

so maybe they have internalized a bunch of nonsense or maybe they haven't. I don't know. Until I see something to inform an opinion, I have none.

My own predictions about what I would do or be in their shoes aren't much use, I don't think.

I have experienced being around enough people who were indoctrinated as children into self-hatred and self-abuse that I do not assume out of hand that any particular people will reject such just because I think that a smart or self-respecting person ought to do so. They often do not.
