Some of the worst are Brian Tyler Cohen (clickbait merchant) and Meidas Touch (outrage farmers) - they aren’t any more independent than the legacy media you disdain, they just have different agendas and masters.

Marc Elias of Democracy Docket is a frequent guest on MSNOW, as are some of the other folks from sources on your list.

In many, but not all cases, these so-called “independent” News sources prioritize clicks and engagement over informing their audiences- that’s how they stay in business, and we should never forget they are businesses just like the big legacy media outlets.

Legal AF is a fine source for information and analysis of legislative and court related news; so are LawFare, emptywheel and the Strict Scrutiny podcast, which also features legal experts who are frequent guests on MSNOW.

I think it is dangerous to reject all legacy media sources out of hand, and may even be more dangerous to blindly accept “independent” News sources are preferable over legacy media, especially since those lines are becoming increasingly blurred.
