Tom Steyer's vile attacks on Democrat Xavie Becerra are illuminating [View all]

I just got a it piece in the mail from the Tom Steyer campaign for California governor attacking Javier Becarra. It’s vile. Clearly Steyer is a guy willing to do just about anything to get elected, even if it gives his Republican challengers in the jungle primary a better chance to win. I was hoping he was a principled Democratic billionaire on our side. I don’t think so any.more. I think he’s on his side and that’s all. He’s definitely not getting my vote.

I know that we here on DU have a rule about not bashing Democrats, especially Democratic candidates. In this case I think Steyer has to be called out. I wish he observed the rule. Run on strong policy positions. Bash the Republicans opponents. Don’t mail out hit pieces that could depress the vote for a decent Democratic candidate and give the other side a better chance at winning.
