Leaving MAGA does not automatically make someone an ally. If you stopped supporting Trump but kept voting for every elected official enabling him, you have not left the movement — you have just stopped wearing the hat. The work of unlearning what made it acceptable to support him in the first place is entirely separate from simply walking away when his poll numbers dropped. The deal breakers were there in 2015. They were there on Access Hollywood tape day. They were there on January 7th. A decade later, after he can no longer run, is not the moment that earns you a standing ovation from the people who saw it clearly the entire time.
