In reply to the discussion: Groceries: [View all]Jack Valentino
(4,882 posts)10. My DOLLAR TREE just increased their prices on most food items to $1.50 from $1.25 each
on my trip there this past week..... making it less of a good deal...
I have been buying quite a bit there the past few months,
depending on the item--- trying to stock up on canned goods and other non-perishables,
before my SNAP gets cut off after this month---
Have to say this makes it less likely that I will continue to buy much there...
After this month, I will limit myself to "bread, milk, eggs and cheese" as much as possible
for the following 21 months until I turn 65 and re-qualify for SNAP

I hadn't heard of that. Pretty ballsy for a brand to lay down an ultimatum like that.

If you have any extra money at the end of any pay period, get some cans of evaporated milk.

True, I only use milk for cooking so I end up freezing most in reused whipped cream containers, works great. nt
