(91 posts)Overall support is into the mid 80s from Republicans. That might still seem high, but consider that almost 70% of Independents and over 95% of Democrats are opposed to him. Also consider that they classify party by self ID. So, these aren't just Republicans, they are Republicans who are willing to self-identify as Republicans in the survey. That is a group much more likely to also support Trump than just those registered as Republicans.
Many of those are saying they are Independents because they don't want to associate with the Republicans right now.
It should be noted that almost 1 in 5 people who are self-identifying as Republicans are now saying they don't think Trump is doing a good job. In the July poll it was almost 1 in 10. In this inauguration poll it was less than 1 in 10 and Independents were supporting him at an even clip.
His support is eroding faster than a sandcastle at high tide.
