The first excuse Hegseth proffered was that the initial strike was intended to be a "lethal, kinetic strike." Apparently, the second strike was a do-over.
The second excuse was that the few survivors, and the wreckage they were clinging to, constituted "a navigation" hazard which was justification for them to be incinerated in the second strike without any effort to rescue them.
Finally, Hegseth is now denying that he gave the order to "Kill them all." So much for chain-of-command accountability.
Everyone knew that, when Trump started blowing boats out of the water, there would be occasional survivors who could be rescued by the navy with relative ease. The two survivors from the previously reported such incident were whisked away and never heard from again. The survivors in this recently reported incident, who were clinging to debris resulting from the first strike, were murdered in the unjustified second strike.
Apparently, when Trump and his ghoulish handlers started this brutal campaign, they felt that, with regard to the specifics as the how the lives were being taken, nobody would notice.
