My point still stands about wandering bad officers. I feel we too often have the mistaken belief that an officers misconduct will take them off the streets for good, but sadly this is not the case. States vary as to how committed they are to the decertification process. There are also some states that allow recertification if the conduct wouldnt lead to decertification in the state. Whether he is actually decertified by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy will depend on whether they can prove that his misconduct fits one of the enumerated categories provided above. It is not clear they can. Violating department policies doesnt seem to be one of them.

I'm not sure why you think revocation is likely. Rules for both officers and supervisors vary greatly by state?
