12. EU and NATO are two different entities

The NATO countries are not all in Europe, so therefore they aren't all members of EU. Examples would be the US, Canada, and Turkey. They're bound together by pledges of mutual defense against a common enemy.

On the other hand EU countries are all in Europe and are geographically connected and economically bound together under a constitution. These countries are the most threatened by Putin's aggressive acts against Ukraine (and now Poland.) Until Chump came along they were looking to the US as a strong supporter and ally, but sadly, not any more.
