values "virality", blatant idiocy, and tasteless humor.

They got what they wanted.

In fact, what "works" on social media for them is the opposite of what works in real life. Preparation, focus, skill and quality (YMMV on these). And what REALLY works for the owners of social media are hypnosis, psychological baiting and exploitation.
