Assuming by "MSM" you mean newspapers, they're beholden to Journalistic standards of objective reporting. Opinions are for the editorial page, or in the NYT's case, "News Analysis". The opinions there are often scathing, particularly if you can read between the lines.
But you probably mean CNN or daytime MSNBC.
The "MSM" couldn't save us if they wanted to: not enough people are watching/listening/reading.
