I don’t know why you’d assume I fail to understand of the MAGA movement’s effect on the Republican Party. I’m pessimistic, but 4 senators and 5 or so reps crossing the isle even on singular issues might stop the momentum. At some point, Trump’s policies are going to cause undeniably visible and widespread discomfort to the Republican base. Maybe, just maybe, then some Rs will feel the pressure to do something to check some executive overreach.
