He has nothing to lose. Fire him? He won't care, was planning on leaving anyway. The real question is, who replaces him. Colbert is about to be on the market and late night shows ratings are in the toilet. Everyone watches now via streaming, those are the real numbers. Hence why Disney took a step back and realized they fucked up. Even Leno, who developed a feud with Kimmel said he should still be on the air, is talented and he still watches him.
