That said, why dredge up a time that is gone?

Times change.
People change.
Places change, and
Situations change.

What worked or didn't in the past usually is the worst guide for the future.
Only universal themes (such as you might find in a psychology book) last (because human nature doesn't)

So, a little controversy sells books.

Compare Joe Biden's heartfelt "Promise me, Dad"
Who even knows it exists?

I've seen enough nit-picking and "woulda, coulda, shoulda" in life.
There's more satisfaction in understanding and sympathy, and it makes the world better.
"Seek what's we have in common rather than what's different"
It's the beginning of real dialogue and improvement.

Naaaahhhh, it doesn't sell.
