(44,157 posts)...is an account for a "Representative Jack Kimble."

Kimble purports to be a Republican representative from California's 54th Congressional District.
When I first came across Representative Kimble's postings on Twitter, he struck me as one of those all-too-many clueless Republicans with terrible takes on just about everything. But in a world full of Marjorie Taylor Greenes, Matt Gaetzs, Lauren Boeberts, Paul Gosars, and multiple other idiotic fools that somehow found themselves elected to office, I didn't find it all that strange.
Nonetheless, I recall posting more than a couple of snarky responses to Kimble's idiotic musings when I discovered him.
It was only a little bit afterwards that I discovered one important thing:
There is no Representative Jack Kimble. There is no 54th Congressional District in California.
It certainly was believable enough--it's not as though majority of the 435 members of the House of Representatives are really household names, so Kimble's name going undetected would not be that unusual. California is the largest state by population, so the idea that there would be a 54th Congressional District is believable enough (and even in a heavily blue state, there are still more than a couple of outlier districts in California.)
Once I found out that Representative Kimble was not a real Congressman but rather a mere parody of one--once I was in on the joke--it made following his satirical account all the more enjoyable.
Now I'm able to follow along as part of the joke, and I don't enjoy it any less.
A good satire will go a long way in helping to cope with unfortunate realities.
