There are still Target stores in Austin
, Texas and I confess to shopping there on occasion.

What Cornell and other (overpaid) suits failed to note when they caved into MAGA/Trump demands to end DEI and other programs was that they were slapping a lot of their customer base in the face.

The Target stores in Austin (and also Dallas) are located in racially mixed parts of town. (The same could probably be extrapolated for San Antonio). A good chunk of their customer base is either Latino (primarily Mexican American) or Afro-American. That’s close to half or more. And Cornell chose to knuckle under to clueless wing-nuts who don’t know his company’s customer base?

The right-wing trolls and theorists may have polemics and bullying down to a fine art, but they didn’t know (or didn’t care) what following their demands would do to Target’s bottom line. Target stores, their staffs, and their managers are finding out what the fancy suits didn’t bother to learn.

I feel for Target’s lower ranked staff. I don’t have sympathy for the”deciders” who bought into MAGA bunkum and are finding out the hard way.
