It took a long time to convince her that this man did not love her and was abussing her. She was too young to fully understand what was happening. She was struggling with so many other things that I wasn't aware of. She had a wonderful teacher in high school that counseled her and helped her to convide in me what she was struggling with. In her mind she thought she had lost her dad's support and did want to risk losing me.
That was never going to happen.
Edited to add im so sorry you did not get the support you so desperately needed. I suspect your struggles were similar to my daughter's. I will be forever grateful to my daughter's teacher in convincing her to trust me .
