I think you are correct. This reads very much like his style of writing. I love his writing and he also takes gorgeous photos. I began reading his essays back when he was still living in Alaska.
To any DUers who aren't familiar with his writing, I can highly recommend him.
Jim Wright also has a website, called Stonekettle Station, where his longer essays are archived. He can be found on a podcast, with David Gerrold ( a sci-fi writer, who also wrote for Star Trek). The podcast is broadcasted on the last Sunday of the month. The host is B Cubed press.
