My nephews were the two best players in a men's league by the time they reached 7th grade. Their father came from NYC, where people play a different type of b-ball. Faster, more talking. Thus, he was often resented by the "good old (white) boys" here. The older son -- who set the school's rebounding record -- did a lot of talking on the court. But the younger brother was almost silent -- I only remember him ever saying one thing. He was in 7th grade, and far out playing the local varsity coach trying to guard him. The coach told my nephew that "someone" is going to stop him. My nephew said, "But it won't be you."
