(76,843 posts)It's funny, in a tragic sense. The implications are scary. Miller has at least learned to avoid clown make-up ..... remember in the first term, when he attempted to "cover up" his balding head with black shoe polish? (Note to self: find pictures for next rally posters.)
In Fromm's 1972 classic, "The Anatomy of Human Destructiveness," he documents how when a sociopath achieves political power, without fail those with anti-social personality disorders are drawn close within their orbit. Then the ASPDs recognize there are no limits to the cruelty that they inflict upon innocent people. And as the only innocent Hurricane noted, every cruel dictator in human history has convinced the public to blame some smaller sub-group for all that is wrong in their lives -- including their low level of being.

(190,858 posts)for someone anyone to not say Come on. Really?
Years ago, when my nephew was tripling our school's basketball scoring record, a coach from another community would get on the radion and spot crap. When he attended one game to scout, he sat in front of one of my co-workers and I. Mistake on his part. I admit we expanded on, "Come on. Really?"
I asked Russ, "What is that thing on Bob's head?" He said he was convinced it was a dead woodchuck he had seen along the highway. Russ's father-in-law -- a WW2 veteran -- told us to stop being cruel. So we went well beyond cruel until Bob moved to another seat.

(76,843 posts)My nephews were the two best players in a men's league by the time they reached 7th grade. Their father came from NYC, where people play a different type of b-ball. Faster, more talking. Thus, he was often resented by the "good old (white) boys" here. The older son -- who set the school's rebounding record -- did a lot of talking on the court. But the younger brother was almost silent -- I only remember him ever saying one thing. He was in 7th grade, and far out playing the local varsity coach trying to guard him. The coach told my nephew that "someone" is going to stop him. My nephew said, "But it won't be you."

Weird how the mere sight of some people make me angry...and it ain't just the adrenalin.

Frauds' Pro Tip: When thinking about hair conditioner, Rudy, remember the air conditioner!

(76,843 posts)I had just messaged my friend to set up another meeting. I mentioned the sad attempts at make-up.
When my oldest son was five, he asked me why people would "make up" to be other than who they really were?
