When we have jobs for our kids here they will stop enlisting and the wars will end |

In 1973, the draft was ending, so back then when we graduated high school we had the choice of either enlisting and going to Vietnam or going to work in a factory for top union wages. The factories were fighting to recruit us before the military did. Which choice do you think me and a lot of other young men and women took back then?
Representatives from local factories came into our high school and tried to recruit as many of us as they could. They hired a lot of us before we even graduated high school so we didn't become confused and do something foolish like enlisting in the military.
We closed up shop in Vietnam 2 years due to lack of interest.

and if all the gays and lesbians in the active service right now (60,000 plus) would walk into their ranking commander's offices before the end of the year and "tell" then DADT would be repealed the next day. An unreasonable request, I know! But hey...it would work and fast to end this now. Both DADT and the wars.

2. Ahhh....if wishes were silver dollars, it would work that way |

The next War may be at home if things continue as they are.
But how to explain that eligible persons chose it now to "protect" their families when civilian employment fails...
OTOH, perhaps TPTB, invested as they are in the MI complex, WILL create a brand new, more appealing reason to be all that one can be, travel the world, learn a foreign language, get a degree on-line if one doesn't get killed first, Yes Sir, Buddy!
