"Bloomberg Says Obama's Democratic Base Should `Suck It Up' on Tax-Cut Deal" |
|
I have a better idea Mr. Bloomberg. Why don't we tax the shit out of the rich and tell THEM to "suck it up". Then use that tax revenue to spend into our economy by the needy.

18. The politicians are terrified that they'll take their billions somewhere else. |
|
(1) As if they haven't done that already. (2) As if their billions are doing a damned bit of good for THIS country. (3) Because the politicians are keenly aware of the major funding sources for their re-elections.
Pick any three. Especially (3).

10. When we finally have a progressive Congress and a progressive President |
|
you can bet your ass that you will be taxed back to FDR levels - 92%. Or even Eisenhower levels which was about 60-70% of your income.
And after ending both wars and taking home the troops, and writing a new law that only NATO and other like-minded agencies will be only authorized to request military action. Kosovo was a good action - it was a NATO request that Bill Clinton complied and helped end the conflict.
We should do the same. Not try to set up an empire. It fails EVERY time.
