Validate me. Or, tell me to go to sleep. Or, whatever... |

I can't fucking work in an office anymore. So. I want to write... maybe create a new recipe.
Is there anything in the the next 4 random paragraphs that resonates with anyone?
It seems that clarity of thought comes infrequently. Drifting upon a leaden slide, the spiral towards an imminent impact with the ground bewitches me. I grab tails of ideas as they waft in the passing air, but I’m never am able to gather enough material to cast a protective landing pad.
Never have been, never will be, the innovator that was expected. My preference is to flit about and assume the feelings of those around me, so that I can interact with a modicum of that oh-so-important decorum. I have no clue what is expected, so I must be proactive in thwarting the absurd concept that what I just stated is true.
My years as a child were masterful. I believe that I was completely immune to how anyone else considered me. It was an adventure that was boundless in the rewards that lay in wait of a questing soul. Building rafts, clubbing fish, conquering mountains… it was just part of the drill. I excelled.
Life begins with exposure to a new environment. From womb to what-the-fuck!? While that memory evades me, the transition to air-breathing suckdom had to have been a shit-storm of invasive sensory stimuli.
ALL comments are welcome.

6. Fwiw, writing is not a fun experience for me. The only thing I hate more is |
|
working in an office.
I'd sooner advise someone to go into underwater metal bending but the hours are good and you are your own boss.

First things first
About that office thing, lunch time, breaks, get outside!!! Go pound a handball against a concrete wall back to yourself awhile, it helps. As far as validation and identity, those are yours to build and define; never estimate the desire of another to make you believe more in them than you. Resist by being unique and abide by abstract rather than tangible principle.

10. Pick a subject you know well or feel strongly about, then write what you feel. |
|
Judging from the abundance of flowery language you use, you might be more interested in writing poetry. If you're more interested in writing prose, write in the same manner as you would think or talk, then tweak, tweak, tweak. And outlines are invaluable. I read that John Grisham spends years working on his outlines alone.
But don't give up on working for a paycheck until you're famous. :)

11. ... lots of people are feeling the same way ... |
|
... the 20th century paradigm doesn't fit anymore. I know SO MANY people who are chucking their 9 to 5 lives and starting up their own co-ops or nonprofits (myself included) or moving towards a life-off-the-grid ... I think we - as a species - are realizing that the Ayn Rand-ization of America was a convenient mythology (the "MadMen mentality") but it doesn't make anyone truly happy.
I'd say make a plan, do your homework to make sure you're not left with no net at all, join some local writers groups and go for it.
