The Republicans are unstoppable |
|
I, for one, am glad that our President and Democrats in Congress understand this, and realize that all we can do is try to extract some concessions on a few things in exchange for our continued good behavior.
We cannot fight. We must do what they say.

3. Democrats do not all believe the same thing. Democrats like to think and act independently. |
|
That limits us in Congress. Republicans all pretty much believe the same thing, have more party discipline, AND cling more tightly to their convictions. That's why they wield more power in Congress.

Obama/Democrat-Killing Robot Army. They are relentless and they all stick together on McConnell's plan
- destroy Obama and Dems - consolidate power - give the country to the top 2%
None of them think for themselves any more.
Doesn't mean we ought give up and stop resisting.
I also have the feeling that all those people who voted for the Republicans in 2010 are going to get a quick refresher lesson on why they voted them out in 2008.

5. Obviously you're being disingenuous |
|
That's fine.
I think an alternative assertion would be that while the republicans are possibly unstoppable at the moment - and that's not entirely true - perhaps the best thing we can do is "let 'em." So far they've shown themselves to be vile homophobes on DADT, and the so-called compromise on taxes, etc. will further erode our economic situation. BrewerCare in AZ is resulting in actual, for real death panels where actual, for real people are dying. Failure to fund various budget requirements will result in declines in education, the failure of our infrastructure, devastating climate changes, etc., etc. Sure, we all pay the price, but I think this sort of destruction is going to be necessary before we - and here I mean Democrats - can rebuild.

Don't liberals know the Republicans will only punish us for pushing back? We have no choice but to give them whatever they want and hope they'll reward us for our good behavior.
edit: no I don't have Stockholm Syndrome. I'm just "sensible".
