9. I question the wisdom of leaving the room and leaving Bill Clinton in charge
As Xultar brought up in another thread, no offense against Clinton in this case. But, by leaving, Obama looks like he's not in charge, like he's desperate. I think we more or less have blood in the water now, and the sharks will circle, mostly from the right, but also from the left.

Personally, after the mid-terms, I kept waiting for Obama's big epiphany. It never came. I'm starting to think it's almost too late. I don't understand the president's actions, not at all. He doesn't act like someone who wants to be reelected, and on many occasions, he doesn't act like a Democrat.

He shouldn't have been there in the first place; it made him look weak, like he'd run to Clinton for back-up.

But given that he *was* there, he shouldn't have left. It made it look like he didn't think it was important compared to a party.

23. Make "you're a secret Republican" accusations if it makes you feel better
but don't expect this to do any good. Don't you understand the simple concept "perception is reality". This was an incredibly weak move on Obama's part, and it WILL harm him, no matter how hard you wish that wasn't the case. I don't think that browbeating fellow Democrats will result in people magically coming around to your way of thinking. Your time might be better spent finding out why it is so many progressives are upset with Obama, rather than continuing in your suspicion that all DU'ers angry with Obama are secret Freepers.

I only find it curious that the exact same arguments are being parroted.

Frankly, I'm not interested in trying to convince those who have already made up their mind, with flawed reasoning and imaginary evidence, that Obama *sucks*. I only wish these critics would be more sincere about their real motivations. ... is all.

10. It was actually very wise of him to leave the podium to Clinton alone
And he does have his priorities (where his family is concerned) well defined!

I realize that this is "bash Obama season," almost more vicious from the Left than they have ever been from the Right. . .
And I'm not happy with his last decision either. . .

But. . .don't go too far! First, you are being just as mean and unreal as the Right. . .
Second, you are playing into the Republicans' hands!

Is that what we all want??? Could this be the way the Right reach their goals to "defeat Obama???"

Sorry, I don't want to give them any help!

64. Holy cow.
I just watched the video. It is completely surreal to see Bill Clinton standing in front of the White House insignia, calling on reporters, having them call him Mr. President, and then hear them address policy questions to him like he's still in office. You can tell he loves every second of it, too, leaning over the podium like that.

The reporter asks something about loosening up credit markets, and what Clinton thinks can be done to help that along. It cuts off before Clinton can answer, but really--why are people asking Bill Clinton about what can be done? He's not the president! What can he do? What if he says something that Obama disagrees with? This is so weird.
