9. He's still there (Brown) -- I was just wondering, isn't there anybody else? I'm calling |
|

Inslee's and McDermott's offices and telling them I'm disappointed they're not there supporting him. Pissed, not disappointed. :grr:
EDIT:
HaHa! Well, gateley, the reason they're not there is because this is the SENATE, and they're Congressmen!
Okay, watch out Canwell and Murray, I'm dialing now!

15. Is there a vote scheduled right now? |
|
"Long speech" and "filibuster" are not the same thing.

3. I like him. But I want to know what's going to replace this tax deal. |
|
Something has to be offered that will pass the Senate. If he's got a better proposal that will pass the Senate, then I will hail him to kingdom come and back. Otherwise it's all talk.

4. Republican Senators have unemployed constituents too. Call their bluff. |
|
They will cave under the pressure.

10. OK, two things wrong: One, republicans aren't going to cave now. |
|
They're not--because they will have the House in a few weeks, where they can control the legislation. They've already stalled the START treaty, voted no on 911 responder health care, and refused to pass unemployment, to no consequence, so that is a fond pipe dream that apparently can never die in the lefty blogosphere. Number two--what I'm getting is that Bernie doesn't like the tax deal, but did he offer alternative legislation today?

12. That's not going to happen. In fact, that would be a bad thing. For Obama, for Democrats, and |
|
for the country. But I suppose it's satisfying in the abstract.

17. What will cost less financially? Sunsetting or the compromise? |
|
Edited on Fri Dec-10-10 01:28 PM by rocktivity
What will hurt more? The loss of unemployment and Soc Sec benefits or a bigger deficit?
I realize this is a decision between bad and worse, but I think Obama is choosing worse.
If we have to borrow money, let's use if for funding what they blocked, not fattening the deficit and the wallets of people who don't need it.
